We invite you to a meeting to learn more about the “Good Governance, Accountable Institutions, and Transparency” Programme, funded by EEA Grants and Greece, and to see how we are working together to bring positive changes to Greek society and public administration.
Supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, the Programme goes beyond co-financing projects and aims to impact citizens’ daily lives by enhancing public service capabilities and building trust in institutions. This is a great opportunity to learn how the bilateral relationship with Donor Countries and the international collaboration of Greek institutions like Citizen Service Centers, the National Transparency Authority, and the Ombudsman, with organizations like the OECD and the EU’s Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA), contribute to the Greece of today and tomorrow.

Why Join?
The event will showcase the Programme’s impact in Greece, highlighting specific success stories and notable examples:
- Digital Transformation of the State for All: Imagine if all citizens, regardless of their digital literacy level, could receive services faster and with less bureaucracy. Over 1,000 Citizen Service Centers across Greece now operate through a unified digital system that interacts with multiple Greek Government systems. This system has already processed over 1.3 million internal transactions, making everyday life easier for millions. Join us to hear how this transformation is changing the face of the state for all citizens.
- Transparency and Accountability in Focus: What does transparency mean in a modern state? Supported by the National Transparency Authority and in collaboration with the OECD, the Programme has established a strong institutional framework for managing conflicts of interest and strengthening integrity in public administration. Through public perception surveys, conferences with OECD results, and public official training, digital tools and proposals were developed to promote transparency and accountability. How can these tools reinforce citizens’ trust in public services?
- Expanding Access to Rights: With the new Ombudsman office in Thessaloniki and 193 local visits made by Ombudsman advisor teams, Northern Greece residents now have the support they need close to home. Access to rights protection is strengthened, with over 1,000 citizens and civil society members participating in awareness workshops and meetings. The Greek Ombudsman’s extended outreach campaign, backed by new digital infrastructures, now allows remote access to services for all. How much stronger is the voice of citizens when they have direct support and the tools to assert their rights?
